1. Overview
StudentHubHelp helps students, parents and other visitors discover student-oriented services and places such as hostels, PG accommodations, tiffin or food services, libraries, cafes, bookstores and related local services.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be handled when you visit or use the website, interact with listings, submit information, contact the platform, create an account or otherwise use available features.
It also explains an important distinction between personal information and directory information.
2. Information We Handle
Depending on how you use StudentHubHelp, information handled by the platform may include:
- Account and profile details such as name, email address, phone number and information you choose to provide.
- Listing submissions and owner requests, including property or business names, address, city, contact details, facilities, pricing, descriptions and related information.
- Listing images or other media you or an authorised contributor submit.
- Messages and details submitted through support, correction, claim, report, removal or other request forms.
- Chatbot appointment requests, which may include your name, phone number, optional email, request type, purpose, preferred date and time, mode and message.
- Chatbot messages and limited recent conversation context sent to the StudentHubHelp chatbot service to generate a response and, where relevant, retrieve directory results.
- Technical and diagnostic information processed by website, hosting, authentication, database or security infrastructure.
StudentHubHelp uses Supabase infrastructure for database-backed website features and its chatbot endpoint. Information submitted through a feature may be transmitted to and stored by the systems that operate that feature. The fields involved depend on the feature and what you submit.
Do not submit passwords, OTPs, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information. Information intended for public listings—such as business name, public contact details, address, facilities and listing images—may be displayed publicly after submission or review.
Information should be handled for relevant purposes connected with operating the platform, providing requested functionality, managing and reviewing listings, responding to requests, maintaining security, preventing abuse and meeting applicable legal obligations.
3. Public Directory Information
StudentHubHelp may publish directory information about properties and student-oriented businesses so that users can discover and compare options.
Directory information may come from public sources, owner submissions, user submissions, platform research, corrections or other lawful sources.
The existence of information on StudentHubHelp does not mean that StudentHubHelp owns, operates, employs, endorses or guarantees the listed property or business.
4. Verification & Review Status
StudentHubHelp may use different listing states to communicate the current review status of directory information.
The applicable StudentHubHelp review or confirmation process for the listing has been completed based on the information available to the platform at that time.
The listing is awaiting review or additional confirmation. Users should treat important information as unconfirmed until the applicable review is completed.
Information may be displayed because it is useful for discovery. Publication alone does not mean the information has been independently verified.
What "Verified" does not mean
A Verified label does not constitute a permanent guarantee of safety, quality, ownership, legality, availability, price, service quality, future accuracy or suitability.
Verification should be understood according to its scope, method and date. Circumstances can change after a review.
Direct StudentHubHelp Confirmation
If a student asks about a specific property through an official StudentHubHelp email, WhatsApp or other official support channel, and the Student Director or an authorised StudentHubHelp team member expressly confirms specified information after a current manual re-check, that confirmation means the specifically stated information was personally re-checked and confirmed as of the date and time of that communication.
This is a higher-confidence, time-specific confirmation than merely viewing an Approved, Active or Verified listing status. It applies only to the information expressly confirmed. Details that can change later, including availability, rent, facilities or provider terms, should still be reconfirmed before booking or payment.
5. Unverified / Pending Review Listings
Some listings may be published before StudentHubHelp completes its internal review.
Unverified or Pending Review means that the relevant review has not yet been completed. It does not automatically mean that the listing is false, unsafe, fraudulent or illegal.
Students and parents should independently confirm important information directly with the relevant property or service.
- Exact address and location
- Current phone number or contact person
- Current rent, price and additional charges
- Availability
- Facilities and amenities
- Rules and restrictions
- Deposit, refund and payment terms
6. Accuracy, Freshness & Corrections
Directory information can become outdated. Prices, availability, phone numbers, addresses, facilities, ownership, operating status and other details may change without immediate notice.
StudentHubHelp may review listings individually, process owner-submitted updates, consider credible user reports and make reasonable corrections when reliable information becomes available.
A listing may be reviewed again when material information changes, a credible correction is received, a report is submitted or StudentHubHelp determines that another review is appropriate.
If you identify incorrect, outdated, duplicate or misleading information, please use an available reporting or contact channel so the information can be assessed.
A correction request does not automatically establish that the information is incorrect. StudentHubHelp may request reasonable supporting information before changing or removing a listing.
7. Owner Claims & Requests
A property or business owner or authorized representative may contact StudentHubHelp regarding a listing.
Depending on the request, available options may include:
- Claiming or requesting recognition of a listing.
- Requesting correction of inaccurate information.
- Providing updated business or property details.
- Reporting duplicate, misleading or unauthorized information.
- Requesting removal where appropriate and legally permissible.
StudentHubHelp may request reasonable evidence of ownership or authority before making changes, particularly where a request could affect another person's information or a public listing.
8. Reports & Fraud
Users are encouraged to report suspicious, misleading, fraudulent, duplicated or materially incorrect directory information.
Reports may be reviewed using information reasonably available to StudentHubHelp. A report does not automatically prove that an allegation is true.
Where appropriate, StudentHubHelp may update a listing, temporarily restrict its presentation, request additional information or remove information that does not meet applicable platform or legal requirements.
Users should also contact appropriate authorities or financial institutions directly when they believe they have experienced fraud, theft, impersonation or another serious offence.
9. Student Safety
Do not treat a StudentHubHelp listing or verification label as a substitute for your own due diligence.
Before visiting or paying for a property or service, users should consider independently confirming:
- The actual location and physical condition.
- Identity and authority of the person dealing with them.
- Current price, deposit and payment requirements.
- Written terms, rules and refund conditions.
- Whether the service is suitable for their individual needs.
Never share OTPs, passwords, banking credentials, card PINs or other sensitive authentication information with an unknown person claiming to represent a listing.
10. Payments & Brokerage
StudentHubHelp is primarily a discovery and directory platform. Unless a specific feature expressly states otherwise, StudentHubHelp is not the seller, landlord, property manager, broker or service provider represented by a listing.
Users may communicate or transact directly with third parties. Any rent, deposit, booking fee, food payment, service payment, brokerage, refund or other financial arrangement should be independently confirmed with the relevant party.
StudentHubHelp does not guarantee the outcome of a transaction between a user and a third-party listing.
12. Data Retention
Information may be retained in relevant website, database, account, listing, request, appointment, backup or technical systems for as long as reasonably necessary for its collection purpose, platform operations, security, dispute handling, fraud prevention or legal obligations. Retention periods may differ by information type.
This policy does not promise a single fixed deletion period for every category. When information is no longer reasonably required and no legal, security or operational reason requires retention, it may be deleted, anonymised or otherwise handled appropriately, subject to the capabilities and retention rules of the systems and service providers involved.
You may submit a correction, access, deletion or other privacy request using Section 19. Identity or authority verification may be needed, and some records may need to be retained where the law permits or requires it.
13. Privacy Rights & Choices
Subject to applicable law, users may have rights and choices concerning their digital personal data.
Depending on the applicable legal framework and processing circumstances, these may include:
- Requesting information about applicable processing.
- Requesting correction or updating of inaccurate personal data.
- Requesting erasure where legally available.
- Withdrawing consent where processing is based on consent and withdrawal is legally available.
- Raising privacy-related grievances through an available grievance channel.
A request may require reasonable verification of identity or authority, particularly where the request could affect another person's information.
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 have a phased commencement framework. StudentHubHelp will apply mandatory provisions to the extent and from the dates they become applicable to the platform.
Nothing in this policy is intended to remove or unlawfully restrict a right that cannot legally be excluded.
15. Students & Families
StudentHubHelp is designed to help students and families discover local services and accommodations.
Parents and guardians should supervise minors' interactions with third-party properties and service providers where appropriate.
Users should not submit another person's personal information unless they have an appropriate lawful basis or authority to do so.
If you believe personal information has been submitted or published improperly, please use the available privacy or grievance channel so the issue can be reviewed.
16. Security & Breach Response
StudentHubHelp uses reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information and the risks involved to help protect student, owner and other user information against unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, loss or unauthorised disclosure.
No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should therefore use strong passwords where applicable, protect their authentication information and avoid sharing sensitive credentials.
If StudentHubHelp becomes aware of a relevant security or data incident, it may take reasonable steps to investigate, contain, remediate and provide notifications or disclosures where required by applicable law.
17. User Submissions & Intellectual Property
If you submit listing information, corrections, reviews, reports, images, text or other material, you should have the necessary rights or authority to submit that material.
By submitting information for platform use, you permit StudentHubHelp to use, store, reproduce, format, display and process the submitted material as reasonably necessary to operate the relevant feature, subject to applicable law.
StudentHubHelp may remove or restrict submitted content where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, safety, accuracy, abuse prevention, privacy or platform integrity.
Nothing in this policy transfers ownership of intellectual property that a user or third party lawfully owns.
18. Applicable Law
StudentHubHelp intends to operate in accordance with applicable Indian laws and regulations relevant to its activities.
Business identity: Udyam Registered Micro Enterprise • UDYAM-RJ-21-0100880
Depending on the nature of the processing or service involved, applicable requirements may include data-protection, consumer, information-technology, contractual, intellectual-property and other relevant laws.
Legal requirements may change over time. This policy may therefore be updated when platform practices, applicable law or regulatory requirements materially change.
Where a mandatory legal requirement conflicts with a statement in this policy, the mandatory legal requirement will prevail to the extent required.
